SAS Centres

SAS Centre logoAt our dedicated SAS Centres we offer a wide range of personalised services for clients with a wide range of conditions, ranging from Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity or Dyslexia to Asperger's Syndrome, Autism or Down's Syndrome. We currently have SAS Centres in the U.K. (Watford - Greater London plus Accredited SAS Practitioners throughout the U.K.), Australia (Brisbane) and Turkey (Ankara). You will find more information on the dedicated websites for each country.

For parents who do not live within reach of one of our Centres we now make SAS At Home courses available for personal home use. Check out our SAS At Home page for more information.

The learning and developmental assessment involves screening with a number of specialised tests, completion of an in-depth questionnaire, and a personal consultation with one of our practitioners. Our aim is to identify underlying causes and developmental symptoms and to find ways to overcome any limitations. You will have the opportunity to discuss any educational, developmental, behavioural or emotional concerns you may have and explore possible routes to improvement. You will receive detailed explanations of our findings along with our recommendations of how to proceed and we will also provide you with a 10 page written report. Please allow an hour-and-a-half for the assessment.

During the assessment we will conduct a number of diagnostic tests for those who are able to reliably complete the various procedures. For children under the age of six, that are often unable to complete these tests, we will make development and behaviour observations and use questionnaire information. The tests, questionnaire and consultation are specifically designed to discover the possible underlying root causes of the concerns raised and provide guidance on how to design an effective remedial programme.

SAS Neuro-Sensory Activation Programmes

Based on the results of the initial assessment we will recommend the most appropriate course of action. We will design a programme around the individual abilities, needs and responses of the client. This can include appropriate elements of the following programmes:

  • The SAS Attention Activation Programme aims to increase attention and concentration and reduce hyperactivity and impulsiveness.
  • The SAS developed Constraint-Induced Language Therapy (CILT) is directed at the specialised language processing centres in the brain with the aim of improving language processing and speech production.
  • The SAS Learning Enhancement Programme is specifically designed with the aim of activating and balancing the two brain-halves and removing the blocks that are holding back learning, understanding and memory. This programme is designed for those that wish to progress further.
  • The SAS Confidence Building Programme uses NLP scripts and brain activation techniques with the aim of building confidence and boosting self worth.
  • The SAS Sensory Balancing Programme aims to reduce the negative effects of poor sensory processing or any sensory processing disorder and can be used with other SAS interventions.

To ensure maximum effectiveness Neuro-Sensory Activation sessions are given on a daily basis for one to two hours every day, normally Monday to Saturday, for two to three weeks. Total duration of an initial programme is mostly 18 or 24 hours. In some cases additional reinforcement programmes are provided some time after the initial programme to reinforce and consolidate changes in the brain.

If the client was able to reliably complete the tests that are provided during the assessment, then these tests will again be taken at the end of the initial programme. Clients are also invited to return 4 to 6 weeks later for a review and consultation to provide feedback on behaviour and performance progression. The post programme review and follow-on tests are included in the initial programme fee.

Psychotherapy - Life and Career Coaching

At most of our Centres we offer coaching, counselling and psychotherapy sessions as an effective way to tackle relationship issues, emotional upsets, stress, depression, fear, traumas or other issues that stand in the way of balanced learning and leading a happy fulfilling life.

We regularly give Talks that highlight some of the underlying causes and discuss symptoms of a range of learning and developmental difficulties and what can be done to help overcome these. You will learn more about the possibilities that now exist to activate the potential and inherent talent in children and adults. The presentations last for about 60 minutes followed by Questions & Answers. These talks are aimed at parents, but are open to educational and health professionals or anyone interested in this subject. Please check our U.K., Australia and Turkey websites for more details.

All our dedicated SAS Centres are there to answer your questions, guide you in your search for solutions towards improved learning, and support you with issues related to developmental difficulties. Please give us a call.
